Dead End · a daily word puzzle from Quibley

How to play

Get from the first word to the last one through a chain of connected words.
Each word has to connect to the one before it: a thing and what it's made of, a famous pair, a phrase, an opposite, a part and its whole.
There's no limit. Every word you try counts as a move, and so does a hint. Try to finish on par.

COLD→ICE→WATER→GLASS

Ice is cold, ice is frozen water, and you drink water from a glass. Many routes work. Some words connect but lead nowhere: that's a dead end, and it counts as a move. Repeats, typos and words we don't know yet don't count.

Par is the fewest moves the route can be done in, and it's always at least 5. A new route opens at midnight UTC, and earlier routes stay open for practice.
